The Asylum Chapel

The Asylum Chapel which is located in a residential area in Peckham is part of London’s largest complex of almshouses. It was damaged by bombs during World War II but it still remains a beautiful space that can currently be hired for weddings and exhibitions.

This project aimed to remodel the chapel into a small theatre offering children in the local community training to develop their performing arts skills. This could potentially help change their lives for the better and develop their confidence and experiences. Performing Arts is a form of creative activity that is performed in front of an audience and can include drama, music, and dance. This could also help the kids feel a sense of community and belonging.

The proposed plan consists of a small theatre, foyer, cafe, and a studio for training.
